Ride on parliament 17th No 2009
19 11 2009The protest ride on the New Zealand parliament went off without a hitch, strong feelings regarding the intention to fleece the NZ motorcyclist with a 400% increase ensuredthat plenty of riders took the time off mid week to attend and oice a strong message to our government, namely, make these changes at your peril.
Firstly we have 250000 members who will work tirelessly at election time to make sure NO ONE forgets being shafted. secondly, we wont pay ANY increase (we already pay too much) and thirdly we will use all means including civil disobedience to get our message across. If our government thinks we will roll over on this they are sadly misinformed. I have never seen a group in our community so commited to this.
Needless to say when ever governments have need for more cash, rather than tighten belts and make sure wastage is minimised, their only thought is “just take more from Joe Public”. do these people live in the real world or are they so out of touch with real life situations of the average joe public out here. we cant just go rip off someone else when we run short, we budget. skrimp and save.
Our idiot politician Nick Smith produces totally erroneous statistics to suit his argument and then has the temerity to stick to the lies when he is proved 100% incorrect. plenty of accademics far better qualified than he have checked the figures and proven statistically that motorcyclists more than pay their way in a supposedly blame free system. ACC aint insurance, it was set up to ensure everyone contributed the same and all were able to partake of the advantages when required. The fact that there are a number in our community that milk it for a lifelong lifestyle is just indicative of the incompetence of the people running the ACC, Its high time Beaurocrats and politicians took responsibility for their incompetence and paid the price just as anyone in the private sector would.
Acc was designed with some basic fundamentals, and has proven to be very successfull, second to none. unfortunately our forefathers had skills and common sense that our current lot lack completely.
If our government think that the 12500 that turned up at the protest was a peaceful one, they should take heed that future ones wont be so understanding. our fellow citizens know full well that the govt thought the average NZ motorcyclist would just roll over and comply, and then they could move to their next target, car drivers, cyclists, boat owners, sportsman etc etc until they can finally privatise it.
Its a fight the public of NZ (ALL OF US not just motorcyclists) are ready and willing to see through to the bitter end. we are ready for you. the mood of the NZ public is changing, no longer are they sheep who follow blindly. we have had enough of goverments who ignore the peoples wishes
LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTION
